‘Don’t Stop Me Now’
Nick Fox Aftersales Manager
Service Advisors and Managers are the spokesperson of the brand and have the opportunity to serve and really care for customers, keeping them loyal to Ford and bringing them back to your dealership time and time again. Henry Ford Academy have three case studies from real delegates who have participated in the Ford Heroes Programme, sharing what they have taken from this so far.
Nick is the Aftersales Manager for Richardson Ford Bridlington. Starting his career at Beverly Ford in 1992 as an Apprentice, Nick completed the programme over the 4 years, achieving a B-Tech National and NVQ. From 1996-1997 Nick become qualified as a Technician, spending a lot of time at the Daventry College site. Nick held Technician status for three years and was keen to progress further, becoming Senior Technician in early 2001.
It was here that he moved to Richardson Ford to undergo training as Master Technician which he completed by 2003. He spent 7 years in the role as Master Technician and in 2010 was offered Workshop Control. This was in line with where Nick wanted to progress, though he is still qualified as Master Technician. In 2012 the opportunity arose for Parts Manager which Nick still currently manages. In 2015 he took on the Service Managers position due to the two dealerships sites undergoing a management reshuffle.
In June of this year he attended the Heroes Managers Assessment had this to say, ‘The assessment is very different from anything I have done previously as I needed to provide a business plan presentation’ Despite this I found the course very enjoyable. The benefit of attending this journey has been the help, guidance and training we received.’ Nick is keen to keep developing for whatever the future holds for his career and is a passionate advocate for training, saying, ‘I have always believed in hard work to accomplish the goals we have in life. Mr Paul Richardson and Mr. Toby Richardson have always encouraged and supported this over the last 15 years. I believe that every manager needs a good team behind them and I have a great team behind me. My colleagues have helped and supported me as I have progressed within the dealership and continue to support me in my current position which I am very thankful for.’
