The Routes of the Tour de Yorkshire 2017

Friday 28th April 2017. Stage 1: Bridlington to Scarborough


Saturday 29th April 2017. Stage 2: Tadcaster to Harrogate


Sunday 30th April 2017. Stage 3: Bradford to Fox Valley, Sheffield






The Tour de Yorkshire cycle race will be one of the biggest cycling events in the UK in 2017. Taking place over 3 days, many of the top international teams will come to Yorkshire to take part in the race, which follows the hugely successful Grand Depart for the Tour de France in 2014. On the third day, thousands of amateur cyclists are expected to take part in the Sportive which will take the same route as the professional race.

More than 1.2 million people are estimated to have turned out for the inaugural three-day Tour de Yorkshire.


Stage One

Friday 28th April 2017: Bridlington - Scarborough 173KM

Stage One of the Tour de Yorkshire will depart from Bridlington Spa, heading into Pocklington for an intermediate sprint. From then the riders will be faced with climbs up Garrowby Hill and Goathland before heading onto the seaside town of Whitby. After Whitby, the riders will head down the Yorkshire Coast to the village of Robin Hood's Bay (facing another climb on the way) before reaching the finish on Scarborough's North Bay.


Stage Two

Saturday 29th April 2017: Tadcaster - Harrogate 122.5KM

The women’s race will be held on the same route as the men’s race on Stage Two of the 2017 race with the women’s race starting in the morning followed by the men in the afternoon.

Stage Two of the race begins in Tadcaster on the Tadcaster Bridge before heading into Knaresborough for the first intermediate sprint of Stage Two. There's a climb at Lofthouse and then the riders will head onto Ripon for another intermediate sprint. The riders will pass by Fountains Abbey and onto Harrogate, finishing on Parliament Street.


Stage Three

Sunday 30th April 2017: Bradford - Fox Valley, Sheffield 194.5KM

The third and final day of the Tour de Yorkshire will see the race starting at City Park in Bradford, coasting by Salts Mill before heading into the Yorkshire Dales. Skipton is the next town on the route with a climb at Silsden. Another climb will test the riders at Haworth and at Leeming before they head onto Shibden Wall. There's an intermediate sprint at Stocksbridge before the riders take an on the final 22km to Fox Valley with four final climbs at Deepcar, Wigtwizzle, Eqden Height and Midhopestones on the way.
